Safeguarding & Whistleblowing Policy

Safeguarding is not a procedure - it is a culture. Every child has an equal right to be protected from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

Last updated: April 2026 · Review October 2026

This policy sets out how Sapling & Stone Care protects and promotes the welfare of every child in its care. Safeguarding is understood as a fundamental responsibility that underpins all aspects of practice, guided by statutory requirements, national guidance and recognised best practice.

The welfare of children is paramount in all decisions and actions. Every child - regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation - has an equal right to be protected. We recognise that the children we care for may be more vulnerable due to their experiences, communication needs or level of dependency, and our approach is responsive, inclusive and tailored to individual need.
